The programme features Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet Fantasy Overture and Symphony No. 2, alongside Gerald Finzi’s lyrical Eclogue. Young soloist Edward Tait performs Finzi’s beautiful work for piano and orchestra. Edward is a British composer, pianist and organist who is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music. He won the BBC/NCEM Young Composer Award in 2026, and his compositions have been performed at venues including Royal Festival Hall and Westminster Abbey.
From the passion of Romeo and Juliet to the warmth of Finzi’s Eclogue, this concert offers an inspiring evening of live orchestral music. Tchaikovsky’s rich melodies and powerful orchestration combine with Finzi’s intimate lyricism to create a memorable concert experience.
